Musings...

Recently, I have been corresponding with a relative that I rarely see, but feel I know a lot about. You see, every week she sends out an newsletter-type email for people to read. I read it faithfully every week. She talks about her husband, her genealogy work, her dog that I've never seen, but feel I know intimately. :) You get the picture.

The point is, in our correspondence, I remarked on how much I enjoyed reading her missives. She was so grateful! Apparently, she started these email letters in an effort to feel more connected with her family in Utah (she's in Ohio). I know my family reads her emails, but apparently we never really respond. But she faithfully sends them out, every week, and she has done so for years.

It got me to thinking about my blog. I was all excited about it when I first started this blog (all of four months ago) because I thought it would be a great place for me to air my thoughts. What I didn't realize was how hard it is to send out postings and basically get no response. Now I think that part of the problem is that people have told me that they have made comments, and yet nothing shows up. I've changed the settings multiple times to allow for comments, but still, nothing.

However, I decided that even if my blog readers are few, there are at least a couple of you out there. And so I pledge myself to be more diligent in limning posts. :) I may even try to be interesting.
