Basketball

Anyone who knows me well knows that I love basketball. I really do enjoying watching games. I played for the Junior Jazz when I was in junior high, but I'm not really a good ball player. But I am an enthusiastic supporter of basketball!

So you can imagine that last night's Jazz game against the Lakers was pretty exciting for me. :) I really was on the edge of my seat for the whole game. The Jazz would be way up, then the Lakers would be way up. The fourth quarter was especially exciting as lead changes and ties were frequent. And, of course, I would only be writing about this if the Jazz won. If they lost, it would have been too bitter a disappointment. :)

To anyone who watched that playoff game last night, feel my pain. Brent was really tired last night because he had a long day at work AND he played basketball on his lunch break. He apparently played three games and was quite sore. The long day combined with the late start of the Jazz game worked against him and he couldn't stay awake. He was dozing off in the second quarter. I kept trying to get him to go to bed, but he wanted to stay near me, even if he was sleeping. (You've got to admit it, that is pretty cute.) I kept telling him that we should both go to bed, then, but he kept saying that he knew I wanted to watch the game. And he was absolutely right. :)

Thus, I turned the sound down really low on the television and made no sound whatsoever during the second half of the Jazz game. I did not want to wake my sleeping husband on the couch. But it was so hard! All these exciting things kept happening!! I allowed myself to do mental dances of joy, and mental cheering. That eased the pain somewhat, but I think I prefer to vocalize and act out my emotional state at basketball games. It's just---better that way.

Here's hoping to a win for the Jazz on Saturday!
