Well, as Becca mentioned already, we were under the impression we were going to have an emergancy C-section today (Sunday), however that didn't happen. Apparently it wasn't scheduled, and nobody knew anything about it. Fortunately, we kinda got a hint of yesterday, so we weren't completely blind-sided. Even so, the doctors we talked to before didn't seem to think we should wait any longer.
Not sure if you know anything about the "Plecenta Previa" or not, but basically as Becca mentioned on the prior blog, it is down at the bottom blocking baby's exit. If Becca goes into labor she will hemorage badly, and she and the child would not survive. This makes it vital that she does not go into labor before the c-section occurs. The problem is, she doesn't even have to go into labor to rupture, it really can happen at any time, and isn't a matter of "if" but "when".
So, we're now on bed rest, and we're just going to take it easy until we can get in to get the surgery. Provided we get in on time, it is likely that everything should turn out fine. Baby is healthy right now, and appears to be a wiggler....like me.
This isn't my normal-post, but more of an update for those who have been hearing rumors of us staying in the ER for a couple of nights.
Oh, that was a lot of fun, let me tell you. I stayed with Becca over-night at the U hospital, to make sure everything was okay. Aside from the nurses coming in every hour and asking you "how are you sleeping" (to becca..they didn't care about me so much), the beeping machines, the horrible chair I tried (unsuccessfully) to sleep on...it wasn't such a bad night. At 5:30 they said that we were out of the woods, and at that ponit I decided to go to work. I figured i'd better keep my days off for the baby.
So, i drove to work, and fortunately my job is so busy and stressful that I had no problem staying awake...that is until work finsihed and I got in the car to drive back tot he U (from ogden). What is it about cars that put you to sleep?
Becca has on loan from my mother an I-Pad, which Becca can't seem to put down now. If only I didn't just have to pay for 2 nights in the ER....i may be able to get her one for her birthday!
