Dating and children are for the young....

Well, during the past week (our first week with a new child), I have come to realize that much like dating, there is a reason that babies are born to young parents. I'm not saying 16 year olds, i'm just saying younger than me.

I remember the days when I could be out all night long, wake up for school at 5:15 am, and buzz through the day with the help of a snickers bar, and enjoy the night-life once again. It would usually take all week before it would start to catch up with me, and by Sunday I could sleep in and make all the tiredness go away for a whole week.

What happened to me in my old age?

The constant dating and late nights never bothered me. Sure, i was a little tired, but I would forget about it moments after I left the house.

It's only Wednesday today. I'm only 3 mornings into my first week of having a child, and right now, there is nothing on my mind except a nap.

I really have gotten old....

Good news, Brent...even if you were a little younger, you'd still only want a nap. (We did.) :) I'm convinced there's something about just getting married changes that whole "stay up late" capability...it's like you go into old fart mode. :) Add in a kid...puh, that's it.

I've been checking in on you guys but haven't had a chance to write a CONGRATULATIONS! She's beautiful, Becca, you look wonderful, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE her name. Enjoy the ride! It's a blast.

If it makes you feel any better, I think the first 2 weeks of having a baby home are the hardest, really, especially with a first child. Maybe after that I've just gotten used to the idea that I'm old and just move on with it. Sleep will never be the same again, but as I'm sure you know, it's totally worth it.

I am so happy for you and Becca! Congratulations! I'm so glad that she is here safely and that Becca is recovering well. I love her name and think she is adorable! She has fingers for the piano! Love to you all!
