I was casually informed that I needed new pictures on our blog...so I found a few recent ones from last fall.
That meant trouble.
Now I've got the spring fever. I want to go camping, swim in a very cold lake, and do some hiking. I'm feeling like i've got to burst out of some sort of hibernation shell and tackle life again.
I love the spring, and i LOVE daylight savings time. I wish that we would do away with "standard time" forever. It is much better to have daylight at the end of your day rather than at the beginning...if you had to choose.
I suppose the main reason to do so is so people's children don't stand out side in the dark waiting for the bus...or walk to school in the dark. But lets be serious...now-adays with all the crazies out there, who lets their children walk to school? I don't know any one who does...although i certainly think it would benefit some children to do so. If i could walk to school in complete darkness in -10 degree weather..uphill both...blah blah blah......
But i'm thinking that it's about time...now that we have those new fangled digital clocks and what-not that maybe we just take the next step and ditch "standard time". To ditch "daylight savings" would doom us to 3:30 - 4am daylight in the middle of summer. That's even too early for me to get up.
Anyway...bring on the longer days....bring on the road trips! It is going to certainly be a wonderful year.....

Sensitivity Training...
So, I posted a comment not too long ago on a good friends blog in response to some hazing I received. My comment had absolutely nothing to do with their blog (which I read), but I wanted to tease them right back-mostly because that is the kind of relationship we have.
After I posted it, I was pleased enough with my level of cleverness, and moved on. My teasing was not about anything personal...just something I found amusing, I really didn't think it would hurt anyone's feelings. However as the day wore on and onto the next day I started to feel awkward about it.
Why? Well the post that I commented on had about 15 other people who commented on it also, mentioning how they were crying from the tender heartfelt *whatevers* that they felt upon reading the original blog. Then there was my comment which was in stark contrast, and seemed insensitive after reading the others in the list.
I started to feel that my comments may be misconstrued by other readers who were thinking i was being an insensitive jerk (I'm fairly sure my wife feels that way about me sometimes too...is there a pattern?), although I was fairly confident my good friends would get a laugh. But then i started thinking "Will they?" I figured that any amount of teasing I should be doing, should be done in person. After all, I think that all of us have been offended by an email or text we misunderstood. I realized that no matter how understanding the relationship is, sometimes things are read and they take on an entirely different meaning than originally intended.
I got paranoid, and took it down in a moment of weakness.
Then I got called on the fact that I took it down.
Either way, you can't win. But I have decided that any form of teasing coming from yours truly, will probably be done not in a public forum.

No One Reads Our Blog :)
This post is for Brent, because apparently we are the only people who read our blog. :) When you get around to reading this in a couple of weeks, what do you think we should do about our blog? We could "advertise" by linking new posts on Facebook, as I've seen done before. (That was where I found out that interesting information about my old roommate, if you recall...) My cousin had a give-away where you had to comment on a post and then you were entered into a drawing. Or we could write more interesting posts so that people will respond to them. I thought your made in China thing was great! I was sad to see that only two people responded--me and you. Should we give up on the whole idea? I guess we don't put a lot of effort into it right now. I'm still thinking about it...
